Biography

TRAINING: I do sit-ups and pushups every morning before I go to work. On my lunch break I get three miles of running in. After work in the evenings I do pad work for an hour and then do an hour of jiu-jitsu and 1 ½ hours of striking. I alternate back and forth with which one I do first. I throw in wrestling and boxing once to twice a week. I pretty much am working all day and training for about four hours or so each evening
Thoughts on opponent, Maycee Barber? I'm used to fighting in hostile territory and I think it will be a great fight. I train the same way for every opponent: hard.
When and why did you start training for fighting? My dad wanted me to have some self-defense training. The owner's wife of the gym I started at had just taken an amateur fight and I thought I would try it out. I've been fighting ever since.
What ranks and titles have you held? US Freedom Fighter Amateur Strawweight Champion, BJJ Purple Belt, WKA North American Amateur K1 Open Champion
Do you have any heroes? My dad
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means a lot.  It means I’m accomplishing my dream and one of the highest honors in MMA.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? No
What was your job before you started fighting? I've grown up working on the farm and still do when I'm not training or fighting.
Ranks in any martial arts styles: Purple Belt BJJ
Favorite grappling technique: All leg locks
Favorite Striking technique: Elbows
