Biography
TRAINING: Right now, a typical day of training is morning striking and BJJ/wrestling at night and vice versa. Twice a day every day. Whatever is in the morning, the other is at night. I love it.
Thoughts on opponent, Darren Stewart? Darren is a tough fighter; he brings it from start to finish. I’m looking forward to testing my skills against someone like that.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training BJJ eight years ago because I saw Frank Mir killing everyone and it just intrigued me. I only wanted to do one pro fight and call it a career and focus on skateboarding, but here I am, about to fight for the best organization in the world.
What ranks and titles have you held? Multiple-time grappling champion.
Do you have any heroes? Chuck O'Neil / Ric Flair
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It's a dream come true. I want to fight the best guys in the world and I want to be considered amongst them.
What was your job before you started fighting? I currently manage a fitness facility in MA with my best friend and tag team partner Chuck O'Neil
Ranks in any martial arts styles: Black belt in Jiu-Jitsu under Tim Burrill
Favorite grappling technique: Mounted gogoplata
Favorite Striking technique: Tiger Uppercut
