Biography
TRAINING: It’s a boring routine, really. I start with morning training and have an evening one after some rest. Evenings are for my family. I am working on everything to become a better fighter.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I became a professional MMA fighter in 2011
What ranks and titles have you held? Cage Warriors middleweight champion. BJJ black belt under Robert Drysdale. ADCC Worlds competitor, Grappling and BJJ World and European multi-medalist.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It's another step in my career. Of course, it's nice to be recognized by UFC and have a chance to show myself on the biggest stage. I hope that after this fight I will say it was a major point in my career.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Graduate School of Physical Education
What was your job before you started fighting? It was sport since a young age. Even if I had a job other than fighting, it was sport-related, like fitness instructor.
Favorite grappling technique: Brabo Choke
Favorite Striking technique: Left Hook
• Pro since 2011
• On eight fight winning streak
• Five wins by KO, five by submission (Arm triangle, Japanese Necktie, 2 triangle, guillotine)
• Six first round finishes, four in under a minute
• Has finished all but one of his wins
• Origin of nickname: “Imadlo means vise in English. My grappling teammates were joking that when I catch someone with my hands I can hold as strong as a vise.”
